We, the members of Election Committee 2009, would like to announce the details of the NST Election 2009 to constitute new executive committee 2009-2011. We would also like to assure you that we will do our best to conduct free and fair election. 

Following are the positions and nomination fees for upcoming “Nepalese Society, Texas Election 2009"

Nomination submission:

Begins:   4:00 pm, Sunday, August 16, 2009
Ends:      6:00 pm, Sunday, August 30, 2009

Note:

• Nomination Form must be turned in to election committee before the deadline in person.

• Nomination Fee is non-refundable.

• Nomination filing fee must be in money orders.

• Nomination form will be available at NST Office and NST web site.  

Withdrawal Date:-

Candidate can officially withdraw their nomination by 6:00 pm, Sunday, September 06, 2009 or before.

Note:  For your convenience, Election Committee members will be available every Sunday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at NST office (see address above)

Nominees must meet the following criteria:

1. Must be a member of Nepalese Society, Texas.
2. Must be a Texas Resident with Nepali origin.
3. Must carry a Texas ID / Driver License.
4. Must be 18 years or older
5. Must present the copy of ID along with  nomination fee (only money order is accepted)

Voters must meet the following criteria:

1. Must be a member of Nepalese Society, Texas. see the following details how to become member of NST)
2. Must be a Texas Resident with Nepali origin
3. Must present Texas ID /License ( Must be a picture ID)
4. Must be 18 years or older
5. Individuals married with Nepalese citizens are qualified to vote.

How to become member of NST?

There will be a membership/registration desk available at the voting site. Anyone who wishes to become a member of NST can become member by filling out the membership form and paying the membership fee ($10.00 for 2 yrs).  Please note that $10.00 is not a voting fee, it is the membership fee. Only members of NST can participate in voting process. However membership is not mandatory to join any of NST programs.
